What is the difference between the Nextbase Click & Go Duo and the Nextbase Click & Go Duo Deluxe

Nextbase supply 2 standard Click & Go twin screen portable DVD sets… these being the Click & Go Duo – which is a dual screen portable DVD player system -and the Click & Go Duo Deluxe – which is a twin DVD player solution. Customers frequently ask us what the difference is and why is there such a large price difference between the two. This article answers those questions.

The main difference

The Click & Go Duo set is a Nextbase portable DVD player with a secondary slave screen. What this means is that the portable DVD player can accept a DVD disc and play that disc. The secondary screen is purely a “dumb” monitor which can only display what is being played on the main player. This means you can play and watch only a single movie ever across both screens.
The Duo Deluxe set however is a twin portable DVD player system… this means both screens are portable DVD players. Both screens in this set can accept DVD discs and each screen can watch its own movie. However using the included cable you can also watch one movie across both screens too. The Duo Deluxe set thus offers you substantially more flexibility… however it is also more expensive! Many of our customers look at the age difference between their children and whether they are the same sex or not to help them make the decision whether the Duo set will suffice or whether the Duo Deluxe set is a necessity. The greater the age difference the greater likelihood that neither child will want to watch the same movie… the same goes if you have 2 children – one being a boy and the other a girl.

Power option differences

Another difference between the Duo and the Duo Deluxe set are that with a twin DVD player system, as with the Duo Deluxe, each player can run on mains power adapter, car power adapter or rechargeable Click & Go battery pack. However with the Duo set the main player can run on car, mains and battery pack but the slave screen can only run from mains or car power… thus if you are out and about using plane, train or similar the secondary screen cannot be used.

Both crash tested and approved

So from the above you can see there are some major differences between these two sets however all players in the Click & Go range are European crash tested and approved unlike currently all other portable DVD players on the market.
