Spring Bank Holiday Inspiration

Can you tell we love to make the most of our weekends here at 3wisemonkeys? We’ve trawled the internet again for some Spring Bank Holiday Weekend inspiration and thought we’d share it here, for you to enjoy too. The sun is shining and everyone is itching to get out there while it lasts! Here are a few events we think look great and of course some indispensable gadgets to not leave home without.

The Hay Festival, Hay-On-Wye, Wales – 25th May – 4th June 2017

It’s the 30th anniversary year of the festival and the once small literary festival has grown to celebrate work by poets, scientists, lyricists, politicians, comedians, musicians, novelists and environmentalists. Bill Clinton coined it as ‘The Woodstock of the mind’, which sounds amazing.

Boxmoor Canal Festival, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire – 26th – 29th May 2017

It’s local to us so we’ll definitely be going along to this cultural arts festival held over four days and featuring theatre, live music, a café & licenced bar, a floating market & little indoor artisan market and professional comedy shows. All on the beautiful Grand Union Canal setting, a 3 minute walk from Hemel Hempstead train station and 25 minutes from London Euston.

International Children’s Festival, Edinburgh – 28th May – 4th June 2017

The focus is on theatre and dance for children and the festival showcases a world-class programme with free performances at the National Museum of Scotland. You’ll see storytellers, puppeteers, performers and costumed characters, live music, arts and crafts, short plays and fancy dress. Plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Woodland Trust’s Tree Week, London – 27th May – 4th June 2017

It’s the event’s first year and the Trust has organised more than 50 events, from free trails and guided cycles to forest-inspired haiku-writing and storytelling. All highlighting the value of our woodlands and their work to preserve threatened ecosystems in and around our urban areas.

Our great value, multi-media gadgets – not to leave home without

The Denver GSP-131 Black Senior Mobile Phone at only £25.99, is the latest elderly big button phone we’re stocking and it looks great for our loved ones to carry around, to stay in touch. With the flip lid, large buttons, talking number dial, SOS button, FM radio, alarm clock, SIM free unlocked (except Three), it’s ideal to help keep them safe.

The Denver BTS-52 Bluetooth speaker, at only £18.99 +P&P, is our new trusty travel companion. It’s small and compact enough to take anywhere, with the carry strap and loud enough to start a party, with the 5W RMS volume output speaker.

The Denver DAB-35 Black DAB+ and FM radio alarm clock, at £34.99 +P&P, has it all for a great weekend away. It comes in a stylish black wooden cabinet, with a dual alarm clock, stereo headphone jack and battery back-up.

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you get up to. Do let us know if you like our inspiration!
